About Us

AHA is a provider of services through the Department of Health under the TBI & NHTD Medicaid Waiver. They align closely with AHA's core values and were developed based on the philosophy that individuals with disabilities and/or seniors have the same rights as others, including the right to be able to impart meaning into their lives on their own terms.

The DOH Waiver services are provided based on the individual's unique strengths, needs, choices and goals. The individual that is being supported is the primary decision maker and works in conjunction with providers to develop a service plan. Opportunities are customized and created to help strengthen social and life skills, and also to help participants live their lives with greater independence and enhancement of community involvement.

My name is Adam, I have been a service coordinator in one form or another since 2015. I have always enjoyed the field as I enjoy being able to provide support for people, and assist them in navigating challenges life can present to us all. I am a father of four, and stay busy both in and out of the office. I enjoy attending my children’s sporting events, going on family trips, outings, and adventures. When able to I enjoy playing relaxing games such as Minecraft, and collecting trading cards. My goal is always to provide support to the participants I work with as I would have people treat myself and my family in the same circumstances. I enjoy assisting families in navigating some of the divisive, and challenging areas with the aging process as well as ensuring the families have the ability to enjoy the time they get to spend with their loved ones as they age.

My name is Stacey and I have worked in the Human Services field for over twenty five years. I have a dual Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from the State University at Albany and a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Marist College. Prior to becoming a service coordinator I worked in the Criminal Justice System; first with Youthful Offenders in the Youth Court Program and then as a NYS Parole Officer. I was recognized for my work with youth by the Saratoga Town Court and granted the “Justice Award” for ”improving the quality of life of Town of Saratoga residents through an innovative Criminal Justice Program.”

I was also selected by my peers at the NYS Parole Academy to represent the class and speak on their behalf at our graduation ceremony held in front of all NYS dignitaries. I am a mother of four and grandmother of five beautiful children along with being a Foster Parent for many hard to place children  over a span of 15 years.  I began working as a Service Coordinator in 2015 serving clients on the TBI and NHTD Medicaid Waiver Programs. In December of 2019 I began At Home Advocacy Inc., a nonprofit with a goal of ensuring that all individuals with disabilities, including those with traumatic brain injuries, the sick, veterans and seniors have access to advocacy resources and supports to increase their independence and assist them in safely living at home in their community. Currently we serve over 50 clients.

My name is Coulton, and I am a veteran of the United States Army Infantry of five years. I was stationed out of Fort Hood, Texas and served in Germany. During my time I was sent to the JOINT READINESS TRAINING CENTER in Fort Polk, Louisiana to train and prepare for combat. I also spent three months at Fort Irwin National Training Center in the Mojave Desert of Southern California preparing for deployment. While serving I spent time in Hohenfels, Bavaria, Germany and Grafenwoehr, Germany training with soldiers from Germany, Austria and France. Since going through the process of “getting out” of the military myself I realized that there is a major issue with the reintegration process and how difficult it is going from soldier to civilian.

The biggest war our soldiers face is not overseas but back at home when they are done; on the average 22 veterans a day commit suicide.  My goal is to bring that number down with our veterans outreach program providing transitional services for housing, education, job skills and advocacy.
